IEA 2024 Artist Residency Reel – Edited & Narrated by Bernard Aaron Dolecki

This video reel was produced as just one aspect of my work with the Institute for Electronic Arts (IEA) with the goal of supporting the 2024 grant reporting cycle for the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA). As the IEA's media technician and content strategist, I am responsible for planning, capturing, and editing this compilation to authentically represent the scope, diversity, and creative excellence of the IEA’s artist residency programs. I created this video in close collaboration with the IEA’s director, with a shared goal of illustrating the depth and breadth of artistic inquiry fostered by the IEA—from experimental media and printmaking to community-based art and immersive installation. We curated a broad range of resident work to emphasize the IEA’s commitment to inclusion, innovation, and public impact—core criteria that shape our continued eligibility for state funding. My contributions spanned pre-production planning, documentation logistics, archival asset integration, editing, sound balancing, motion graphics, and pacing strategy. I worked directly with the visiting artists during their residencies, offering production support, mentorship, and technical execution to help realize their project goals—much of which is reflected in the footage presented here. Beyond its role in reporting, this video also functions as a piece of narrative storytelling—designed to validate the IEA’s programmatic structure, demonstrate institutional impact, and affirm how artist support is translated into meaningful, tangible outcomes. It reflects my capacity to organize, narrate, and deliver high-stakes multimedia content tailored to both internal and external audiences. This reel also serves as part of my community development portfolio—showcasing my strengths in media production, collaborative storytelling, content validation, and post-production strategy within an arts institution.
