Archives of Yearning - 2026

A piece for my collaborative show with Alana Kinsey, Archives of Yearning. Filmed until my phone died lol “Archives of Yearning is a show about the power of nostalgia and its place as a tool in shaping the present day moment. Specifically this show is about summer and how it seems to be the ultimate portal into themes, stories, and desires that arise from our childhoods. Forests writing explores what it feels like to be on the other side of time; moving from looking up at the world and longing to touch upon the experiences that weren’t yet accessible. Then, one day, finding yourself looking back realizing what used to be on the top shelf is now at eye level in the present moment. This collection of work is inspired by the way summer stretches between what was and what is, creating a bridge that allows us to fulfill things within ourselves that could have been forgotten but would still leave a hole of experience. It is the feeling of laying in the grass, eyes closed to the sun, taking a deep breath and feeling yourself fall backwards through timelines so we can see how then is essential to now.”
