Bonsai Ground Layer Success?

I attempted to ground layer two of my bonsai trees to improve the roots and move the root plane higher up the trunks. On one tree it was to resue it after a disaster saw the top of the tree decapitated and for the other, to move tge root plane higher up and to shorten the trunk. But did I have success?
