In this video, I go through the motions of machining a cam pinion bolt and locking nut for the tailstock of a rare Pultra 1590 PTA lathe, as it was missing when I bought it.
The 1590 lathe is the largest and rarest of all the PTA Pultra lathes and has a bed length of roughly 900mm with a between centers of 400mm and a 90mm to center height.
The lathe takes a MT3 tailstock and a 20mm collet, exactly the same as the Schaublin 102 lathe, and is very similar in size and design.
This is a quality, rare piece of engineering, a lovely machine that I've only seen two others in 25 years. I will be pairing it up with another 2HP motor I have and a duplicate control box, exactly the same setup as I'm using on my Boley in the video.
I will be selling this lathe, and the price is £1200. I will also be cleaning the bits of surface rust off and oiling everything so it all runs nice and smoothly for the new owner. If you're interested, then let me know.
