Proof Text:Luke 8:22-25,Matthew 8:23-27,Luke 17:1,1 Corinthians 10:13,Romans 6:1-7 Romans 9:1-2,Hebrews 5:6-7 When a blessing comes, one must not relax because the enemy is not happy. There is a need for you to safeguard what you have received from God. Your response towards a temptation matters the most. If you react negatively, you are opening the door for the enemy to attack. A temptation is a test for your spiritual maturity. God is not a tempter; He imposes tests rather than temptations. The only one who imposes temptations on Christians is satan. Calmness is the fruit of the Holy Spirit; it is only given to those who are spiritually mature in the things of God. How many of us can maintain calmness when satan rises to attack? The level of discipline you have when danger is at hand reveals how spiritually mature you are. Faith has the capacity to draw from the Holy Spirit the fruit of calmness when we are in danger. As a child of God, you are required to maintain calmness, to be still, and to wait for God. Do not allow the enemy to cause you to misbehave when temptation is at hand. Things that will cause people to stumble are bound to come. Anything that comes as a temptation is not meant to destroy you but to promote you. A temptation is a test to promotion. When you are tempted, your temptation is not beyond what you can bear. When we are face to face with satan, the Holy Spirit drops a word for a way out. The Holy Spirit speaks through our conscience. Before David released a word out of his mouth when he was one-on-one with Goliath, he listened to his conscience. During temptation, you must exercise the fruit of calmness. David was calm; that is why he responded boldly, and his confession achieved what he desired to achieve. Your sufferings, your challenges, and your temptations are not an enemy but rather a teacher of obedience. When you fall into sin as a child of God, it is no longer a sin; it is a mistake. Anyone who is a child of God has a relationship with God, and that relationship will never be broken. You are no longer a slave to sin; when you gave your life to Jesus, the body of sin was done away with at the cross of Calvary. Sin's power over your life is broken.
