What does it mean to find home in a city you never planned to live in? 💜
Meet Anuli Obiaga-Marshall, Head of Procurement Category, Logistics and Fuel at bp, whose journey is a story of leadership, resilience, inclusion and belonging.
Originally from Lagos, Nigeria, Anuli arrived in Aberdeen through a work posting. What began as a professional opportunity gradually became something much more meaningful. Aberdeen became home.
In this episode of Honouring Our Communities, Anuli reflects on her experiences as a Black woman navigating a male-dominated industry, the importance of mentorship, and the barriers that can prevent minority ethnic communities from accessing opportunities.
She also shares how she’s helped champion greater representation for women in the workplace, why visibility matters, and the role we all play in creating communities where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
Her story is a reminder that opportunities mean little if people don’t know how to access them, and that real inclusion requires intentional action.
As Anuli beautifully reminds us:
💬 “If you go alone, you will go faster. But if you go together, you will go further.”
