Engeye Health Clinic opened its doors in 2008 and has been serving the people of Ddegeya Village and beyond in rural Uganda ever since. Watch to see how Engeye has evolved from a one-room clinic into what it is today, a bustling full-time health care facility that serves over 17,000 patients per year. Now Engeye is comprised of a collection of buildings including a dispensary, laboratory, staff housing, and most recently, a building dedicated to women's health and maternal health care services all staffed by a team of talented individuals committed to providing compassionate health services to the community. Engeye also provides educational support for dozens of local children who are attending primary and secondary school as well as several currently enrolled in university. The partnerships Engeye has forged over the years, such as its connection to Union College through the Minerva Fellowship program, Albany Medical College, and the MPH program through SUNY Albany has strengthened its ability to change lives, not only to those they serve at the clinic but to everyone who has ever been involved with this special organization.
