2008 ford escape DRIVER SIDE cv axle replacement full

No one shows you the reality of the driver side of this job, it's much more involved than the passenger side - which has plenty of videos. I'm not a mechanic, but here's how I got it done. 3.0 v6 front wheel drive automatic. Applies to ford escape, mercury mariner, mazda tribute. Job took about 7 hours total, across several days. Tools you'll need, and torque specs: 3622S seal 96060 bushing 62601 slide hammer 27119 seal driver 31971 slitting tool #2 bearing grease Loctite 648 small seal driver from amazon wheel puller metric service wrench set 5lb slide hammer 1 1/4" or 32 mm socket for axle nut - 221 ft lbs DW059 impact wheel chocks 3T jackstands 3T jack cv axle 66-2084 lugnuts are 19mm - 100 ft lbs lower ball joint is 13mm & 15mm - 46 ft lbs 66440 wedge punch torque wrench battery is 5/16" wrench 3/8" socket extension rubber mallet ball peen hammer pry bars drift pins knuckle is 18mm - 85 ft lbs speed sensor is 8mm - hand tight caliper bolts are 18mm - 129 ft lbs
