Salomon - S/LAB Genesis 2 - Midwest Trail Runner Review

Is the Salomon S/LAB Genesis 2 one of the best technical trail running shoes? I believe so. I've run 60+ miles/100k in the S/LAB Genesis 2 at time of this review. In this video, I'm putting the Salomon S/LAB Genesis 2 to the test on the trails here in the Midwest. From roots and rocks to uneven terrain, steep hills, and side hills, I'm looking at how this shoe actually performs where I run. I'll share my experience with the fit, comfort, grip, breathability, and stability, along with what I like and what I wish were different. So far, the S/LAB Genesis 2 has been one of my favorite trail shoes I've tested. I really like the secure fit, stability on uneven terrain, and how it handles the heat and humidity of Midwest trails. I'm a newer runner trying to find the right shoes for the trails I run. I've bought and tested quite a few shoes this year, all in the search for that Cinderella's slipper of trail shoes. If you're considering the Salomon S/LAB Genesis 2, hopefully my experience gives you a better idea of whether it's the right shoe for you. About fulFORWARD I'm a new runner in 2026, exploring Midwest trails, testing trail running shoes and gear, and learning along the way. My goal is to find the shoes and gear that actually work on Midwest trails from roots and rocks to mud, humidity, and steep hills. Trail running. Midwest trails. Lots of shoes. And plenty to learn.
