Kedzie Avenue: Driving through Westside Chicago: 4K: Streets of the Americas

Today the trip will be through mostly west side Chicago down Kedzie Avenue. Starting from northwest side in North Park neighborhood, we will be riding through west side of Chicago and terminate the trip in southern edge of Little Village neighborhood in city's southwest side. The neighborhoods we will be passing through will be North Park, Albany Park, Iriving Park, Avondale, Logan Square, Humoldt Park, East Garfield Park, Lawndale and Little Village. Kedzie street in Chicago is named after John H. Kedzie, an early Chicago real-estate developer. Kedzie Avenue extends more than 20 miles from the southern suburb of Olympia Fields to Bryn Mawr Avenue (5600 North), and again from Lincoln Avenue (6100 North) to the Evanston border at Howard Street (7600 North). In Chicago's street grid, Kedzie Avenue is located at 3200 West, 4 miles west of State Street. The corridor can be accounted mostly as commercial, residential and some industrial. Between Palmer Street and Logan Boulevard , Kedzie Avenue is part of Chicago's boulevard system and, as such, is signed as Kedzie Boulevard. The segment that we will cover today will be from Bryn Mawr Avenue to 31st Street. The distance is 10.1 miles and time taken to complete is abouth 38 minutes. Enjoy!!!!
