Colored Fireworks - A rare rag by Geoffrey de Vere (1904)

It is almost the 4th of July, which is a holiday where I live so I learned some songs to celebrate it. This song was written by a Canadian man named Geoffrey O'Hara but he published it under the name Geoffrey de Vere. I am not sure why but I think maybe he thought it sounded like a more impressive name. He also wrote some other songs using his own name, though. He was also a singer and sang light opera as a baritone at Daly's Theater in New York. Later he travelled the Lyceum and Chautauqua vaudeville circuits as a singer, lecturer, and community song leader.
