Making My 450MT Lighter | Motorcycle Camping Solo in the Goldfields

Improving my CFMOTO 450MT with a lightweight lithium battery for a solo camping trip. After noticing the stock battery starting to fade, I swapped it for a 964g lithium replacement from TyKool. This upgrade promised significant weight savings, but I needed to know if it could handle real-world conditions so I took the bike out for a solo motorcycle camping trip to put the new power source to the test. With no fixed schedule and no particular route that had to be followed, I headed northwest towards Maldon, taking the back roads through Lerderderg, Wombat, Upper Loddon and Castlemaine. stopping to explore the old dredge and dragline ruins near Maldon — a reminder of the machinery and people that once worked this landscape in search of gold. By the afternoon, I was well away from the familiar roads and looking for somewhere to spend the night. No huge expedition. No epic crossing. Just a day on the 450MT, exploring the old roads of the Victorian Goldfields, finding a quiet place to camp, and putting a new lithium battery through its first real adventure.
