Figure Humaine, and other French Works

Former TCMS Artistic Director Sam Gray returns to conduct a programme of French choral works centred around Poulenc's Figure Humaine. The a cappella cantata is regarded as a master work of the twentieth century choral repertory; composed in 1943 during the Nazi occupation of France, it is commonly regarded as a 'hymn to liberty'.
