You step into your backyard at night and something thin brushes your hand. One strand of silk - and the spider already knows where you are standing. Not because it saw you.
A web is not a net. It is an ear the size of your yard, and the moment you touch it you are inside the hunt. This video works through what a human-sized spider would actually do with that information, and what your escape route would have to look like.
One rule: a real spider could not hold this size, so we give this one a body that works. Everything else stays spider - the silk, the senses, and the way it reads a yard.
