The experience of playing Guitar Hero was introduced as a way to streamline the process of playing guitar and successfully gamify the experience of making you feel like a rock star, but there were always going to be limitations of how close the experience of playing plastar would get to the real thing, to the point that even the first game had a song with keyboards on the chart in the main setlist. The guitars are smaller, they have only five fret inputs, and most importantly to this video, there is only one strum bar and it is much tougher and heavier to push than most guitar strings are to strum. It'd take too long to explain why plus it's too early for me, but there are always pretty huge distances in real guitar playing versus fake guitar charting because the hardware is a far cry from the real thing. Try telling that to the guy who charted this monstrosity, though! The guitarist of the band went ham with strums because, hey, you don't not strum most of the notes you play on guitar, right? Of course, it turned out to be a completely unintuitive mess, and though some parts of RBN history are getting kinda washed out, I'm sure most players are at least mildly familiar with how bad the forced strumming in this gets. Kinda makes me wonder why he never looked at other metal songs in the game for example (or just from the bass chart which is mostly fine??), or input from other authors as to why charts are more HOPO-centric than not. Such as it was for RBN, I suppose, with no one taking criticism well. We have tried this off and on with Alfie for about a year, but it was just second try a few hours ago! Pretty cool as the other two instruments are certainly chokeable.
