Renting vs Owning our own home.. discussion! UK home buyers

This is a conversation we have been having a lot lately! Renting vs buying / owning our own home.It would be lovely to own something outright, but it just may not be possible for us or make financial sense. As property investors we own rented properties and have mortgages, however the idea of owning our own place feels like the opposite of what we are aiming for. Many of the savvy investors we have met choose to rent instead of own - usually because they make the deposit money work better invested. Unless of course you have a huge pot of money and enough to buy a house outright, without a mortgage, thats a different story. The idea of renting longer term feels like it's making more sense to us as we build up our portfolio and understand how to use debt (good debt) and leverage. Of course it comes with pros and cons, which we discuss in the video! Note: We realise that we are in a huge position of privilege to be able to live with family whilst we work out our next move, whether that means renting or buying. There is an imposing opinion from older generations who have an obsession with home ownership, which simply may not appeal to everyone these days. After all, we rent cars, mobile phones, films, music, etc. Why not our homes?
