A "mild" hybrid? Sounds like spin to me. Nonetheless, the Volvo S60 B5 has a modest electrified element to its powertrain. It smooths out the start-stop functionality, a tiny bit of power and saves a teeny weeny bit of fuel. Volvo is aiming at the BMW 3-Series, the Audi A3, the Mercedes-Benz C-Class and the Genesis G70. A lovely driving car, one to take on a long, lonesome road trip. Storage, however, is an issue in the cabin. And the tight back seat is literally painful.
