40. Time - Simulation and evolved perception.

We bring a systems perspective into our mental ability to time travel. While reality itself is locked into the flow of the eternal now, our minds, being reality simulator's coupled to realities flow through our sensory input, can detach and walk corridors of memory and visions of the future. This is an evolved upgrade to the basic feedback and governance systems discussed in the previous episode. Memory playback allows offline learning, dreaming, comparing past experience and behaviour looking for possible optimization and improvement potential. This has clear evolutionary survival advantages and would therefore be selected for soon after brains themselves were complex enough to support the activity. tTe pleasure and pain remembered and encoded through the endocrine system become attractor states for future behaviour and desired outcomes. Time emerges as a fourth dimension from this process.
