An old man sits alone in an empty room inside a nursing home. He is frail and at the end of his life, and he is distraught, haunted by the memories of an event that he is not sure has actually happened; he only catches glimpses of these memories. He tries desperately to recall The Little Prince he thinks he met in the desert after crashing his plane. This Prince told him of his Rose, the most beautiful Rose in the whole universe whom he loved. But his Rose was sacred; neither had the words to express their love for one another, instead they chose to hurt each other. Unable to bear the pain, The Little Prince left his home and came to Earth, where he learnt of his Rose’s lies. Utterly broken, the Prince tames a Fox and in doing so comes to understand how he must love his Rose. So The Little Prince makes the ultimate sacrifice and returns to his Rose, leaving the man alone in the desert. At the back of the old man's room stands a window, and unbeknownst to him, his Little Prince stands with his Rose.
