A day with Mount Rainier

Mount Rainier is a massive active volcano and the highest peak in Washington State, standing at 14,410 feet above sea level inside Mount Rainier National Park. The Alta Vista Trail is a popular, short, and steep loop hike located in the Paradise area of Mount Rainier National Park The trek from Paradise to Panorama Point via the Skyline Trail at Mount Rainier National Park is a 5 to 5.5-round-trip loop with about 1,300 to 1,700 feet of elevation gain. Panorama Point is a world-renowned alpine viewpoint located at an elevation of 7,051 feet on the southern flank of Mount Rainier. Reached primarily via the iconic Skyline Trail Loop departing from the Paradise area, it treats hikers to breathtaking, 360-degree vistas encompassing the Nisqually Glacier, the Tatoosh Range, and distant Cascade volcanoes like Mount Adams, Mount St. Helens, and Mount Hood.
