How to Knit Socks with Afterthought Ribbing- free pattern for ladies

These are classic socks. sizes 4-9 are included. Ladies who wear larger sizes use the men's pattern as it's really unisex and will fit ladies 8-15. By knitting the ribbing last, we avoid the step of lifting, turning, and rechanging it. this is the step most machine knitters find difficult. I should have added machine gauge information: I'm demonstrating on a Superba which is a 5mm machine. The pattern works equally well on Japanese 4.5mm machines. Both are considered standard gauge in the world of machine knitting. The yarn is #1 weight sock yarn.
