I had wanted to do the Steall Falls walk near Fort William for a long time and thought Leon would enjoy it, so that was the main focus, or so I thought until I had the idea of going to Glenfinnan to see the Jacobite Steam train and therefore going along the Road to the Isles. A couple of years ago, I went on a wildlife cruise at Mallaig which was spectacular and with a dry, calm day forecast, there seemed to be the perfect conditions to take Leon this time. I have also wanted to visit Inverie for ages, in particular The Old Forge, the most remote pub in Britain, and as this can also be done via ferry from Mallaig, I set about working through the logistics of doing all that on one day. In the end only the Steall Falls walk didn’t fit, so we did that the following day in reality. On the Road to the Isles day, the logistics worked out well and the weather was perfect, so with the wildlife deciding to put on a show, this all made for a day to remember. I hope you enjoy the video.
