The Expansion Begins...

After nearly a year of running trains in an oval starting with humble beginnings of two Bachmann EZ-track mainlines, to adding a small workable yard for some switching activities to reduce the boredom of just running trains around in a circle; we have now decided to expand the layout from the original 7x14 foot oval to an extension of more than 17' along the back wall, tying it all together with a bridge crossing back over to the original layout. More than one scale mile of mainline track with the addition of a passing siding on one side and a new yard on the opposite side along the west wall. It will feature a wye track to turn power and specific passenger cars around for the needed change in direction of travel. Best thing is the new expansion give us the ability to run longer trains and break them down prototypically with out feeling crowded. Come watch the fun as we grow the railroad!
