SHERING A NEW GENERATION OF BELIEVERS | BILLY MBOYA Every generation has its own challenges, questions, culture and way of seeing the world. And today, there are many misconceptions about Gen Z — that they are rebellious, disconnected from God, difficult to lead, or simply uninterested in matters of faith. But what if we are looking at this generation from the wrong perspective? Throughout Scripture, God repeatedly used young people to carry His message and influence their generation. Samuel heard the voice of God while he was still young. David was chosen while he was overlooked by others. Josiah led a spiritual reform while still young. Jeremiah was called despite feeling too young. Daniel and his friends stood for God in Babylon. Timothy was challenged not to allow anyone to despise his youth. This message, “Ushering a New Generation of Believers,” is a call to both generations. To the older generation: Don't just criticize young people — disciple them. To the young generation: Don't use your age or your generation as an excuse — know God, live for Christ, and become an example. The goal is not to make a new generation look exactly like the previous one. The goal is to usher them into a genuine relationship with Christ and prepare them to carry the Gospel to the generation that comes after them. “Let no one despise your youth, but set the believers an example…” — 1 Timothy 4:12 We are not waiting for the next generation of believers. We are raising them.
