You can drive up Mt. Fuji. For real. This 4K POV drive follows a three-stage approach to Japan's highest mountain: getting closer, climbing, and finally standing face to face. It starts on the Higashi-Fuji Goko Road, crossing the foothills of Mt. Fuji. Then the route leaves the expressway and enters Aokigahara Jukai, the Sea of Trees: a vast primeval forest that grew over a lava flow left by an eruption about 1,100 years ago. The road cuts straight through it. From there, the Fuji Subaru Line starts to climb. The road winds up the mountain itself, with lookout stops along the way, all the way to the 5th Station at 2,305 m (7,562 ft). And at the end of the road, the car stops. But the POV continues on foot. At the 5th Station, Mt. Fuji finally fills the entire frame at close range. No fog this time. Face to face. No talking, no music.
