2 Hour rant on How Mecha BREAK is breaking their game for better or worse via Aug 18 Patch Notes -S5

I WILL be reading the comments. I repeat, I WILL be reading the comments. There is still a hope for the future, BUT we have to be very concerned about the direction of these changes and the push they're making. Let's be realistic. This is arguably the change that broke the Verge community, and we'll have to see if we can ignite the fire of a phoenix to see if the Devs do the right moves with our inputs. ----- There's arguably two camps that care deeply about this matter: 1. Ranked purists that want to keep the core gameplay because there's quite nothing on the market that hits like Mecha BREAKs PVP. Ults would drastically alter core gameplay into something different for better or worse. 2. And the second camp are those that want ults to be tuned in and balanced as they roll it eventually into ranked. Both camps are not happy with the pace of these changes and lack of foreshadowing or comms. In the future there may be a camp that defends ults for the fun, but if that camp isn't big enough to substitute the loss from the existing playerbase, then it's a risky gamble bearing little to no fruit. And if the third camp, succeeds, it just means the devs abandoned the old players for something new. But these are my estimations. My personal take is that they ought to fix matchmaking and rank and bots, then worry about override, and PlayStation 5 in that order. It would make the game succeed in my estimations. ----- extra: Mecha BREAK Boot Camp: For those interested in Ranked Verge and competitive play or learning the game, -as well as new player onboarding willing to learn or help coach, there's a boot camp discord server for the game that's growing a new playerbase, and they have quite a few new faces and fresh GMs. The languages support English and Spanish at this time. Lots of custom rooms and jazz, and they typically queue afterwards.   / discord
