קָדַשׁ Qadash (Make Me Holy for You)

A harp sounds softly against stone. Water moves through an ancient basin. A prayer rises from the language Scripture has been building for generations: cleanse me, restore me, bring me near, and make me holy for You. “קָדַשׁ — Qadash (Make Me Holy for You)” begins with the world of Leviticus, where washing marked the movement from temporary ritual uncleanness back toward restored access. It does not treat those washings as Christian baptism. Instead, it listens to the vocabulary Scripture develops from them and follows that language forward. The waters become a visible sign of cleansing, belonging, death, and rising. Yet the song deliberately keeps water distinct from the gift of the Holy Spirit. Water bears witness outwardly; God gives His Spirit. Ezekiel’s promise moves deeper still: clean water, a new heart, and God’s Spirit placed within His people. The repeated prayer—“קַדְּשֵׁנִי לְךָ / Make me holy for You”—becomes the center of the song. Cleansing is not merely about becoming acceptable again. It opens toward a life increasingly set apart for God, shaped by His Spirit, and carried toward the day when His transforming work is complete. 🌱 🎵 📖 Scripture Anchor: Leviticus 15:16–18; Ezekiel 36:25–27; Hebrews 9:9–10 🎶 🙏 Lord, cleanse what needs cleansing in me. Give me a heart that turns toward You and teach me not to confuse the signs You give with the work only You can do. Thank You for the outward witness of water, for the gift of Your Spirit, and for continuing to make Your people holy. Keep drawing me nearer, renewing me, and setting my life apart for You.
