Ravel's "Daphnis et Chloé'" a choreographic symphony, is widely considered to be one of the composer's masterpieces and a pinnacle of twentieth century orchestral music. Premiered in 1912, it had received an unenthusiastic reception but has gone on to be regarded as a masterpiece in orchestration and is now considered to be his magnum opus.
