Initially, he is presented as a mysterious companion and helper, but her true, frightening nature is gradually revealed. In the original story, Verity is the main antagonist, an artificial intelligence that initially seems like a helpful and friendly assistant. It appears in the form of a yellow smiley sphere after the main character, ThatMob, opens a mysterious box. However, as the interaction progresses, it becomes clear that Verity is obsessed with the idea of becoming ThatMob’s only friend and is ready to do anything to keep him close, including murder.
