Anyone interested in the Dendy scene who watched videos by more prominent content creators a decade or so ago will likely recognize this specific cartridge. A similar copy appeared in the second episode of the show "Dendy Island," where FCst1 briefly went over the multicart's contents -    • Dendy Island - 9999999   I used to have a video featuring this multicart on my old channel, but alas, it vanished completely. However, the circuit board itself survived, so I decided to record a quick video of it. I played on a Dendy Junior (MG-02) console and recorded using an EasierCAP (this might be the last video where I use this capture device; not to be confused with the EasyCAP). It features a standard lineup of games—six in total, with the rest being duplicates. Super Mario Bros. appears with the title screen common to many pirate cartridges: it’s copied from the Famicom Disk System cover art for the sequel (*Super Mario Bros. 2*) and includes the number "2." However, gameplay reveals no differences from the original version. Duck Hunt and Clay Shoot are actually the same game; "Clay Shoot" is simply "Game C" from *Duck Hunt*. Yet, in keeping with the tradition of late-90s multicarts, this mode is listed as a separate entry for some reason. The game Soccer displays a "1998 NIKITA" copyright notice—the only game on the cart to show a copyright, even if it is distorted. Could this mean the multicart was released in 1998? And who exactly is NIKITA? There isn't much to say about Road Fighter*, *Pinball*, and *Circus Charlie in their original forms; the copyright notices have been removed, but otherwise, there is nothing new to add. Regarding the duplicates, the collection's first page offers some interesting variations: Fancy Mario*, *Moon Mario*, and *Giant Mario*. Many of you are likely familiar with *Fancy Mario from other compilations. The gimmick here is a change in the mirroring: the screen layout shifts from horizontal to vertical, meaning the left half displays what’s coming up next, while the right half shows the normal gameplay area. This is a fairly old Super Mario Bros. hack that also appeared on bootleg single-game cartridges; pirates would simply rewire the circuit board trace responsible for "mirroring" and sell it that way. Later on, this version turned up on numerous multicarts. Then there’s Moon Mario*... This is a version of the original *Mario with low gravity. Just watch that clip in the video, and you’ll see what I mean. And with *Giant Mario*, you never lose your power-up if you bump into enemies. The other duplicate entries I showed let you start Road Fighter or Circus Charlie from a different level. In Road Fighter*, you can start at any of the four levels, though I didn't find a duplicate for *Circus Charlie that allows starting at the fifth level. So, that’s the compilation for you. AlexSRMD
