INTÖÖHÖH ÃP | Traditional Wind Canoe Competition | PMCR Culture Event Season 2 - 2026

Welcome to THE CULTURE EVENT – PMCR Season 2 (2026)! This event celebrates the rich traditions of the Car Nicobar community living in Port Blair, Andaman & Nicobar Islands. In our villages, traditional canoe racing is an important part of our culture. Since most of our people in Port Blair are busy with work and cannot organize a full-sized canoe race, we created a unique traditional wind canoe competition using handmade wooden model canoes. Each participating village carefully designed and built its own canoe. The canoes were placed on the water and moved naturally with the wind. The canoe with the best design, balance, and performance was declared the winner. This event is more than a competition—it is a way of preserving our traditions, bringing our community together, and passing our cultural heritage on to the next generation. Thank you to everyone who participated and supported this wonderful celebration of Car Nicobar culture.
