Dr. Jenia Yurkovsky of FireWave

Dr. Jenia Yurkovsky is the Co-Founder and CEO of FireWave, an Israeli startup that uses sound to detect wildfires. Small sensors placed on trees pick up the unique sound of a fire when it’s as small as one square meter, long before cameras or smoke detectors can spot it. Their technology gives firefighters time to act before a fire spreads, protecting communities, summer camps and critical infrastructure. Avraham sat down with Jenia to discuss how he came up with the idea, got funded, how FireWave protects its technology, future goals, tips for tech founders and much more.
