I took my BMW iX above 9,000 feet near Safford, Arizona—reaching 9,620 feet on Mount Graham. Most of the climb was paved, but the final section turned into a rough dirt road. Maybe I should have stopped when the pavement ended, but I decided to keep going. This scenic drive follows the route from the lower mountain roads into the forests above Safford, with beautiful views, empty roads, and a challenging final section.
