The words love, submission, and leadership can bring up very strong reactions, especially when we hear them in the context of marriage. But what does the Bible actually mean when it calls a wife to submit and a husband to lead? Is submission the same as silence? Does leadership mean control? Can a wife disagree with her husband and still honour him? What does loving your wife “as Christ loved the church” actually look like in everyday life?
