True Revival

Pastor Greg Melvin emphasized that true revival is a sovereign work of the Holy Spirit that begins within the church, restoring passion, holiness, and families rather than being a humanly engineered event. He distinguished revival (the church’s internal return to life and holiness) from spiritual awakening (a broader cultural outpouring), urged personal repentance and divine discipline, and encouraged believers to keep their eyes on Jesus amid spiritual attacks. Signs of revival noted include renewed hunger for Scripture, lasting transformation, prayerful dependence (following examples like John Wesley and Billy Graham), and making oneself available for God’s work so revival in the church can lead to awakening in the community.
