Hey guys, glad to present some more plugged in guitars these days. I'm mainly an acoustic nerd but for some gigs i obviously need to plug them in and i've instal some floating vintage DeArmond pickups that you can now hear in action. I still have a hard time finding inspiration when i'm plugged in in solo context as i nearly always play unplugged at home.
The standard is called I Hear a Rhapsody and it was composed in 1941 by George Fragos, Jack Baker, and Dick Gasparre.
I'm playing a 1934 D'Angelico Snakehead (strung with Kurt Mangan Monel strings gauge 12-53, using a Dunlop gator 0.71mm pick) with a vintage 1950 DeArmond Rythm chief 1000 pickup plugged into my 1968 Fender Princeton Reverb 'Drip Edge". The sound is captured by both a Neumann TLM 103 and an AEA R84A active ribbon microphone in front of the amp.
I still have room for a couple of student for online classes so hit me up if you're interested. Contact and info : acousticstandardsinparis@gmail.com
