it took me awhile to get around editing this, but i hope you enjoyed the switzerland vlogs! & i hope you get to visit the country one day as well, if you haven't already 00:50 day four (interlaken) 05:57 day five (oeschinensee) 12:35 day six (a long night of museums in zürich) 21:59 day seven (luzern) sbb (for transportation tickets): https://www.sbb.ch/en zürich hotel (sep 5): https://www.alexander-guesthouse.ch/en zürich hotel (sep 6): https://en.hotelmarta.ch/ oeschinensee trail: https://www.alltrails.com/trail/switz... instagram:   / anndamoon   pinterest:   / anndamoon   business inquires: anndamoon@gmail.com all filmed on iPhone 15 ───────── (solo-)travel ratings from a girl in her 20s- switzerland edition safety: 9/10 switzerland felt very safe, and i've met a lot of kind people. however, it can get very dark at night, and depending on the town/city, nighttime can be a bit rowdy. my friend and i also got catcalled the minute we stepped in zürich lol. communication: 10/10 i've had no issues with communication, i believe the large majority of swiss people can speak or understand english. transportation: 9/10 all train/bus/cable car/funicular rides can be conveniently purchased through SBB (web & mobile). they can be purchased at the station as well. i also bought SBB's half fare card to get a discount (50%) on all rides. you would need to order each ride, but if you prefer to just hop and go, some people get the swiss travel pass (this option was more expensive with my itinerary). cons would be that a lot of rides have fixed transfers (can be as short as 3 minutes), and seating is not guaranteed unless you pay extra. accommodations: 2/10 i looked into accomodations 6 months in advance, and affordable options were veryyy limited (for both solo and group travellers). i rarely found a second alternative, but there are a few hostels. the check-in times are a bit odd too, with many of them allowing check-in around 3:00 pm. i never had an issue with luggage storage though, and some places were generous to let me check-in early. budget: 1/10 switzerland is notoriously expensive. i am thankful that i have the privilege to financially afford this trip. transportation and accomodations are the most expensive i've ever seen. accomodations also charge an additional city tax on-site, and the room total may go up based on the number of people staying. activities/attractions are also not cheap compared to other countries. finding reasonably priced food/meals is possible through supermarkets and fast food chains, but the food can get boring/unfulfilling. at minimum, restaurant meals will be around $25-30. however, i like to think this is the price of visiting and a way for the country to protect and sustain the land and its beauty. overall: 6/10 (note: please use this as guidance & not absolute truth!)
