People of Durham #59 - Victoria Bozinovski, Whitby East Ward Councillor, running for re-election

🎙️ Victoria Bozinovski is Whitby's East Ward councillor and is running for re-election on October 26. She's a commercial real estate broker who specializes in national retail brands, the vice president of the Durham Children's Aid Society, and she sits on her church's board of directors. She started sitting on boards at 19 and says she's currently the youngest member of Whitby council. 🏡 We talk about how the ward and regional council races work this election, her career in commercial real estate, her Macedonian heritage, and what everyday life in East Whitby looks like, from the Whitby Mall to construction on Thickson Road. Victoria also explains where the hot pink on her signs comes from, then walks through her side of the council motion on temporary foreign workers, the legal opinion behind her comments, and the media coverage that followed. We finish with a viewer question about a property tax freeze. "East Whitby is just everyday life. It's just walking your dog, talking to your neighbours." 🔗 Connect with Victoria Website: https://www.victoriaforeastward.com/ 🗳️ Whitby Municipal Election Election day: Monday, October 26, 2026, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Advance voting: October 22 to 25, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Find your ward and voting location: whitby.ca/VOTE People of Durham shares conversations with candidates to help residents get to know them.
