So when I heard of this country chicken biryani in Ramanagara, I lost no time in making the 60 kilometre drive to this town on the Mysuru highway. The biryani here is unique, made to a self-taught recipe by Rajesh, the friendly owner cum biryani master who began making biryani as a small one kilo experiment nearly 25 years ago. At the heart of his biryani is an unusual wet masala of greens and spices, in which the chicken is cooked over an hour and a half. Today, Rajesh cooks pots of 50-60 kilos at a time to cater to the burgeoning demand for this special biryani. Definitely a spot to check out when you are on the Mysuru highway next.
