Educating Cromwell: A Huntingdon Grammar School Story

The building that now houses the Cromwell Museum was once Huntingdon Grammar School, where Oliver Cromwell received his early education. We don't know much about Cromwell's early life simply because he wasn't really important enough for anyone to have been writing about him yet, or for anyone to think to keep hold of any possible related writings. As such, to find out how Cromwell became "Cromwell", we can only put together strings of contextual puzzle pieces to try and form the foundations that led to the uninterested and unnoticed young Oliver Cromwell becoming the first non-royal head of state in Britian. In this month’s ramble, we attempt to show just how we do that!
