Jacques Bondon: Concerto de Mars for Guitar and Orchestra. Konrad Ragossnig, guitar. (1968)

An unusual concerto featuring guitar and orchestra issued on RCA Victrola. In this recording Jacques Bondon (1927-2008), the composer, conducts the Orchestre des Concerts Lamoureux. The concerto's interplay between solo guitar and full orchestra is an odd juxtaposition, one that it is difficult to imagine being performed live without amplification for the guitar. Nonetheless, it is an interesting piece, and well recorded. This LP is also surprisingly quiet with only light clicks here and there.
