FunDive Webinar 8: Fungal community resilience - Fire fungi in Patagonia

In FunDive, we work to put fungi biodiversity on the map to enhance European conservation efforts. Fungi are essential for our ecosystems but are often neglected in monitoring and practical conservation efforts, leaving them vulnerable to threats and habitat loss. Alexandre Raimbault (Forest Science and Technology Centre of Catalonia) presents preliminary work on fungal community resilience after wildfires in Patagonia, Argentina, using co-occurrence networks and topological analyses to assess changes in mycorrhizal, saprotrophic, and whole fungal communities. He also talks about how these changes relate to soil nutrient dynamics, based on preliminary results from the Fire-Adapt project.
