Kargil, October 1, 2026: A five-day recruitment rally for the selection of Constables in Ladakh Police is underway in Kargil, witnessing enthusiastic participation from aspiring candidates. The recruitment process is being conducted in a phased manner. The first two days have been dedicated to female candidates for the Physical Standard Test and Physical Endurance Test, while the recruitment process for male candidates will follow and continue till Sunday. Speaking to the media, SSP Kargil Nitin Yadav said that the constable recruitment rally was earlier conducted in Leh and is now underway in Kargil. He expressed satisfaction over the encouraging response from candidates, particularly the significantly lower absenteeism recorded during the ongoing recruitment drive. He said candidates are participating enthusiastically instead of merely submitting application forms and remaining absent from the physical tests. The SSP expressed hope that male candidates would also turn up in large numbers during the remaining days and make use of the opportunity to become part of Ladakh Police. Explaining the recruitment process, SSP Kargil said candidates are being assessed through various Physical Standard and Physical Endurance Tests. These include height measurement, chest measurement for male candidates, running and long jump, besides shot put for female candidates and push-ups for male candidates. SSP Nitin Yadav also advised candidates appearing during the remaining days to utilise the available time for physical practice. He observed that many candidates who are unable to clear the endurance tests appear to have lacked adequate practice. He referred to the orientation programme conducted earlier to familiarise aspirants with long jump and other physical events and said such preparation had proved helpful for candidates. Encouraging aspirants not to miss the opportunity, the SSP said candidates should participate in the recruitment process as they may already possess the required stamina and physical capability to qualify. Highlighting the transparency of the recruitment process, SSP Kargil said comprehensive measures have been taken to ensure that the selection remains completely fair and transparent. CCTV cameras have been installed at different event points, while machines and technology are being used wherever possible to minimise the scope for human interference. He made it clear that there is no scope for favouritism or outside influence in the recruitment process and candidates will qualify solely on the basis of their performance and prescribed standards. DIG Leh-Kargil and Chairman of the Recruitment Board Kushal Kumar Sharma, along with SSP Kargil Nitin Yadav and other officials, are supervising the recruitment process to ensure fairness, transparency and equal opportunity for all eligible candidates. Participating candidates have also appreciated Ladakh Police for providing them an opportunity to compete for recruitment into the force through a transparent and systematic selection process.
