An Exhaustive Critique of Zootopia (Pt. 1)

Disney's Zootopia is a dreadfully written movie, which is impressive for how simple of a concept it is. This is a take I've had floating around in my head for a while now and my certainty in it has only grown over time. I finally decided to put those thoughts into words and when I was done writing I realised that the only aspect of the script I legitimately had unreserved praise for was the comedy. The acting is excellent and the sheer amount of effort put into the animation is plain to see. Unfortunately, this ship is weighed down significantly by a 1000 tonne anchor called the script, which is determined to drag the work done by everyone else kicking and screaming into the murky depths. It may start off promising, but so did the Titanic.
