Pontiac GTO in Europe? 20 Years Later | 2006 LS2 V8 Review

20 years after it was built, what is the 2006 Pontiac GTO – better known in Europe as the Holden Monaro – actually like to drive and own today? I recently bought this 6.0L LS2 V8 Pontiac GTO, and in this video I take a proper look at the car in 2026: the design, V8 sound, driving experience, performance, interior, build quality and the story of how an Australian Holden ended up wearing a Pontiac badge – and how I ended up owning one in Europe. We start with a walkaround of the exterior and some uninterrupted V8 sound before heading out on the road. I explain what the Pontiac GTO / Holden Monaro actually is, why I wanted one, how I found this particular car and what it feels like compared with more modern performance cars. Then we take a closer look at the exterior and interior, build quality, equipment and some of the things that have aged surprisingly well – along with a few things that definitely haven't. And because this is a GTO, we can't finish without putting that LS2 V8 to work.
