Odoo MCP Server for Claude: Setup Guide and the Read-Only Fix

To connect Claude to Odoo you need three things: Odoo 20 on the Custom plan (External API and agentic AI are only in Custom), the AI MCP Server module installed, and a Claude plan (the free plan allows one custom connector). The server URL is your Odoo address with /odoo at the end replaced by /mcp. Out of the box, Odoo's MCP server is read-only: Claude can search your data and build reports, but it cannot create or change anything until you switch on the right Server Actions.
