Pyre of Descent — Aphotic Light

A doxology to the Shekinah touching those who stand with their heads above the heavens and their feet below the hells—whose root works were forged at night. ‘Albedo’ is the long-awaited debut album of Berlin/Cologne dark/psychedelic rock duo Pyre of Descent, released on 23rd September 2026. ‘Aphotic Light’ features Julia Gaeta on backing vocals and the second guitar solo. ‘Albedo’ reflects esoteric experiences of abysmal awe in terrible enchantment. The devotional songs on the album are based around the themes of light, inmost alchemy and the spiritual ecstasies in the tension of becoming and passing. ‘Albedo’ is co-released with Rubeus Obex on double vinyl, (limited to 200 copies worldwide), and by Swiss Dark Nights on digipak CD.
