80's Commercials Vol. 889

These commercials aired on MTV on January 8th, 1984 1. MTV New Music Promo 2. The 1984 Modern Music Calendar (As someone who was born in 1984 and a huge fan of the music from this era...I actually kind of need this) 3. MTV One Night Stand Contest Winner 4. MTV Station ID/Coming Up Next... 5. Promo for MTV World Premiere Video: "Nobody Told Me" by John Lennon (Recorded in 1980 and completed by Yoko Ono after his murder, this was Lennon's last new single to be a top 10 hit in the US and UK) 6. MTV Music News/VJ Segment (Interesting about that boycott working. Also, MTV actually had Robby Krieger's birth year wrong...he turned 38 years old in 1984. If you want to feel really old, he is now 76 years old. YIKES) 7. Ocean Drive (The "Beach Music" referred to in this is a regional specific thing out of the Carolinas: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beach_m...) 8. MTV Promo 9. MTV Station ID 10. Promo for "Closet Classics" 11. MTV VJ Segment (Thanks, Atari) 12. The Legendary Magic Of Elvis Presley (Props for including "(Marie's the Name) His Latest Flame") 13. MTV In Stereo Promo 14. MTV Station ID/Coming Up Next... 15. Promo for "Fast Forward" 16. MTV Music News/VJ Segment (The drummer of The Beach Boys, Dennis Wilson drowned while swimming drunk at a marina on December 28th, 1983 and was buried at sea per his wishes by the U.S. Coast Guard four days before this was recorded. Alluded to here, by 1983 he had effectively already been replaced in the band by two backup drummers due to his alcoholism) 17. Hit Parader Magazine 18. Juvenile Diabetes Foundation PSA 19. MTV Promo (With Bryan Adams) 20. MTV Station ID 21. MTV Promo
