Kavyashree Ajeru is a renowned Yakshagana bhagavata hailing from the village of Ajeru, about 60 km from Mangaluru in the Dakshina Kannada district Introduced to the art form by her father, Shreepathi Nayak, she began learning from a young age and had her first on-stage experience as a bhagavata at just 10 years old
From age 10, she’s performed in over 2,500 shows across India. She gained significant exposure through a singing competition at 16 and has amassed a large following through social media shares of her performances
Accompanied by her father to Yakshagana singing classes, Kavyashree caught the attention of renowned teacher Mambadi Subrahmanya Bhat, under whom she trained in foundational singing (raga-tala) for several months. She further honed her skills in prasanga (narrative singing) under the guidance of Harish Bolanthimogaru, who praises her relentless practice and persistence (Info Cr : DH news )
