Have You Been to Handan? A 4K Walk Through 3,000 Years of History| Northern China

Come along for a walk through Handan, a historic city in southern Hebei with more than 3,000 years of Chinese history. We’ll begin along the Fuyang River, whose waters have long shaped Handan’s urban life, then cross Xuebu Bridge, named after the famous Handan idiom “邯郸学步” — the story of a young man who traveled to Handan to imitate the local walking style, only to forget how to walk his own way. From there, we’ll make our way to Congtai Park, home to the legendary Congtai, a historic platform associated with Zhao culture and the ancient State of Zhao. Along the route, we’ll explore Handan’s local scenery, historical landmarks, and the distinctive traditions of this city rooted in the heart of China’s Central Plains.
